I began playing guitar during sophomore year of high school. At that time, I got the great idea to collect every guitar string I would ever replace. I dreamt that one day this astounding artifact of musical history would one day sit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, next perhaps the smashed remains of a Jimi Hendrix guitar. Eight years later, I'm cleaning out my childhood room. Action figures, odd audio wires, books I never read, CDs I never cared for. It was the appropriate time to say good bye to this spindly mess. So much time was spent with these strings, but at the end, they were just another memento not worth holding on to.
