Three day weekend? Don't mind if I do. Lots of Big John. Mingle in his friends Toddler, Matt, Casey, Connor, a healthy selection of drinking holes and a Nationals game. Sorry I don't have more of it documented.

This weekend is the annual block party at JMU. As soon as I got off work on Friday I drove down to rejoin the campus life with some of my fellow graduates, acting like we belonged there just as much as anybody else. I sincerely miss the social life. I had a blast. Now back to work.

Two get-togethers on one night. First a cook out at the Quantico ladies place. Finally got to see Jim, Bryan, Matt and John after a summer without 'em. Then headed to Joanna's in Herndon where the house-warming party was already under way.

The ladies of Quantico street invite everyone for a festive pineapple party. Ten hours of boozing and schmoozing. We played a horse shoes/cornhole kind of game Ben's brother invented called Washers. Rat and I got demolished both times we play. Burgers and dogs. I made deviled eggs for the first time, all but one were devoured. Guitars and Skip it on the curb when it got dark. As we passed out in the bottom room, a dance party commenced over head. We we woke, Lucas informed everyone what had transpired in our slumber. Beej, Heej and Lohsh.

After three months separated, the TTK boys and sweathearts regroup in the greater DC area. Big hugs because you miss these people. A Metro ride and we are at the Clarendon Ballroom. Buying rounds because that's what friends do. Sharing all the mistakes and successes we've had over the summer. Three months separated and it's like it never happened at all.

This Monday marks the 23rd year of my existence. Family for the Sunday previous, lunch gratis with the co-workers, and a couple nights with my best long necked friends.

Between the end of college and the beginning of an occupation I found myself with the friends I made in-between middle school and high school. Strange how these all creep up on you and next you know you're already talking about the old days when you're twenty two.
